Home Remedies For Bloating

Bloating can be a huge source of discomfort and embarrassment.  There are a few home remedies to get rid of bloating that are not only safe but also very effective. So, get some readily available ingredients and get rid of gas and bloating.

Lemon:

Lukewarm lemon water is a time-tested remedy for bloating and gas. It tastes good and offers instant relief to gas and bloating. Lemon is acidic in nature and it helps in breaking the food down. Warm water is helpful in removing toxins from the body. Warm lemon water is an easy and effective solution to bloating. Squeeze out the juice of a lemon into a glass of warm water. Add a pinch of salt and drink it.

Ginger:

Ginger has active components like shogaols and gingerols, which are effective in reducing intestine inflammations. In fact, you may consume a teaspoon of freshly shredded ginger before meals as well. Sipping ginger tea and adding fresh and dried ginger to your dishes would help in doing away with gas. Put a few slices of ginger in a cup and add a dash of lemon juice. If you want, you can add a teaspoon of honey as well. Now pour boiling water into these ingredients and wait for about ten minutes. After it has steeped for sometime, drink it hot.

Fennel:

Fennel seed is very useful in treating digestive disorders because of its anti-microbial and diuretic properties. It helps relax muscle spasms in your digestive tract and thus, do away with bloating. Crush some fennel seeds and prepare fennel tea by pouring boiling water into a cup containing the crushed fennel seeds. Having this tea twice daily is extremely beneficial.

Peppermint:

Peppermint has the power to relieve spasms in gallbladder, bile duct and gastrointestinal tract. It contains menthol oil that acts as a blessing for your digestive tract. Munch on a few fresh leaves or sip on peppermint tea to get rid of bloating.

Chamomile:

Chamomile has anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. It soothes the stomach and helps you get rid of heartburn and bloating. Prepare chamomile tea by adding a tea bag to a cup of boiling water. Then allow it to steep for fifteen minutes and add a dash of honey. Drink it twice daily to get relief from bloating.
