Get all the benefits of an in-spa treatment with ingredients you can (mostly) find in your own kitchen. Remember, it’s always a good idea to test DIY beauty products on a small patch of skin on your wrist before applying it to your face.
Brightening & Tightening Mask
Egg whites, honey, and lemon juice are DIY face-mask essentials, and for good reason. Lemon juice helps to lighten dark spots and scars, egg whites tighten skin and shrink pores, and honey helps retain moisture and heal skin. This mask combines all of those qualities into one simple mask. You’ll need:
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 tablespoon raw honey
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Small brush
Combine the ingredients in a deep bowl, and whisk until foamy. Then, using a small brush, spread the mixture over your clean face. Make sure to avoid the eye area. Let the mask sit for about 30 minutes or until it has completely dried. Then rinse off the mask with warm water and a washcloth. Splash with cold water, and gently pat dry.
Overnight Oats and Honey Mask
Safe for all skin types, this convenient oat-and-honey mask is perfect for moisturizing your dry skin or smoothing rough skin. Plus, it’s so easy to make. You’ll need:
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon oats
Mix equal parts honey and oats together until they form a thick paste. Then apply evenly to your face while gently scrubbing in a circular motion. Next, go to sleep! In the morning, rinse away the mask with warm water to reveal smoother, moisturized skin.
